The Central Desert Regional Council’s (CDRC) Atitjere works crew erected a new PowerWater Corporation (PWC) Water Usage Sign in October.  It has been located between the Council Office and the Atitjere Store to try and capture everyone’s attention.  Every month PWC send the community water usage data to CDRC and our Essential Services Officer updates the meter accordingly.

The Central Desert Regional Council, together with the Northern Territory Government have released the Regional Visitor Experience Master Plan for the East MacDonnell and Plenty Highway Region.

The Master Plan is expected to shape investment in the region for the next 10 years.

The staff and execuitive of Central Desert Regional Council are delighted to welcome an entireley Indigenous Council consisting of seven new Councillors, three women and the youngest woman ever elected in our region at just 22 years of age.  Read all about it via our press release.

 

The NT Electoral Commission advised today that the following Central Desert Region constituents have nominated for Council. 

Candidates are listed in alphabetical order according to their Ward, attached.

As there are two nominees and only two vacancies in the Akitjere Ward, there will not be an election in this ward.  Both nominees will be elected to Council without contest.
