Ti Tree School Turns 50

On Friday 13 September, Ti Tree School celebrated 50 years of education.

There was a large turn out of town and community members as well as visitors to the school’s Golden Jubilee program, with music by Music NT, stories from former and current staff and students, a visit from Scott McConnell MLA member for Stuart, a BBQ lunch and of course a cake.

Ti Tree School was founded on 9 September 1969 with four students and was made up of “Silver Bullet” caravans. In 1978 the new building was built and today it has 90 students, coming from Pmara Jutunta, Nturiya, Hanson River and Ti Tree Township.

The current staff and students thanked the supporters of the event, including Central Desert Regional Council as well as the Anmatjere Local Authority who donated to the event.
