The Council is committed to assisting local residents to live sustainably on their own country.
Council is contracted by the NT Government to assist 14 occupied outstations with power and water provision, sewage management, road maintenance, waste disposal, dog control, fire management, dust control and environmental health activities. The Council also provides housing maintenance support to 55 houses in these 14 outstations.
Reliable water and power supplies are a priority for Council. Capital upgrades are undertaken as needed, and routine 6-monthly R&M visits are done by plumbers and electricians. Bushlight solar power supplies are in place for the majority of outstations, the others having reliable diesel generators.
Local Indigenous Field Officers provide most of the municipal services such as slashing grass and rubbish clean up.
The table below sets out the outstations managed by Council and the community each outstation is managed from.
