Check out what the Central Desert Regional Council works crew and the Community Development Program in Laramba have been up to. The Local Authority decided to have new fencing around the park, and now it looks great!
The new fence goes around the park in the centre of the community, so the whole community can enjoy a nice area to sit and have community barbeques.
Demonstrating what can be achieved with teamwork, this was a great collaboration between the Local Authority, the CDRC works crew and the Community Development Program.

Previously, the Yuelamu Rec Hall was flooded every time there was big rain and had to be temporarily closed. With the new repairs Youth and Communities commissioned in June, this will be a thing of the past.
Contractors have landscaped the area around the building to direct water away from it, with new down pipes. There will be no more big clean-ups necessary and the Rec Hall can run as usual when it rains.
The contractors also added a sink with a drain for the existing tap, two new windows, a new door and other minor repairs.
CAYLUS made all this possible by allowing Youth and Communities to repurpose funding for the project.
