Expression of Interest – Audit & Risk Committee Chairperson January 2024 – September 2025
Expressions of interest are sought from suitably qualified and independent persons to fill the role of Chairperson on Central Desert Regional Council’s Audit Committee.
The Audit Committee provides independent assurance and assistance to Council on audit, compliance, risk management, control, governance and external accountability responsibilities.
Independent Audit & Risk Committee member will be expected to have skills and experience in one of more of the following areas:
- finance;
- audit;
- risk management;
- general management; and/or
- public /or local government sector governance.
Sitting fees are determined in accordance with Section 200(f) and Section 71 of the Local Government Act, and Central Desert Regional Council has declared that an External Chair will receive an allowance of $600 per meeting in 2023/24.
