The Council is committed to providing animal management services to the Council's communities and several major outstations. The Council undertakes regular routine vet visits. During these visits dogs are treated for internal and external parasites, de-sexed (with the owner’s consent) or put down (with the owner’s consent). The vets also support local participation in animal management and promote education about animal management.

The Council maintains a register of people buried in the community cemeteries. Municipal Services maintain the cemetery grounds and offers grave digging services. Please see the Fees and Charges page for the cost.
The Northern Territory Government Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics is responsible for administering the Northern Territory Planning Scheme which covers developments within the Council region, outside of communities.

Council has a subdivision and development guideline that should be used by anyone wanting to develop or redevelop property within the Central Desert Council communities. The guideline provides council philosophies and policies when undertaking development works. It includes the planning process, construction requirements, maintenance and approvals.
