Central Desert Regional Council has now opened a new visitor accommodation facility at Laramba.

Since its first guest in September 2018, the facility occupancy has been growing steadily and currently is running at near capacity.

Both external contractors and CDRC staff have been guests, enjoying the well appointed clean rooms  with the added advantage of saving the 80km round trip to Tilmouth Wells Roadhouse.

CDRC will run the complex under its own business model, including employing local community members  to clean and maintain both internally and externally in the future.

The Central Desert Regional Council, together with the Northern Territory Government have released the Regional Visitor Experience Master Plan for the East MacDonnell and Plenty Highway Region.

The Master Plan is expected to shape investment in the region for the next 10 years.
