Central Desert Regional Council congratulates Southern Tanami Kurdiji Indigenous Corporation (STKIC) on its funding success to become an independent corporation, a journey of some seven years.  Yuendumu mediator, Robert Robertson commented that “we have to break the cycle we go round in year after year.  Breaking the cycle means we must face the challenges in our lives”.  

Central Desert Regional Council’s Youth and Communities Team recently witnessed devastation and destruction caused by a mob of Desert Zombies in Atitjere.  To spite efforts by a band of local council staff, no one was able to prevent the inevitable.
