The Council would like to congratulate the Department of Housing and Community Development for winning the Indigenous Project award in the Australasian IAP2 Core Values Awards for 2016 for its Remote Engagement and Coordination Strategy. 

The Council worked closely with the Department during the design of this strategy to ensure that it clearly reflected the needs of remote Indigenous communities.  The Council strongly supports the aspiration of the strategy; that is to ensure that quality communication and coordination occurs within and across all levels of government, other stakeholders and remote community members.
