The CDRC Customer Satisfaction Survey is happening next week.

Council staff will be in your community to ask residents questions about Council services.

The dates for each community are:

Yuendumu and Willowra - Tuesday 10/11.

Nyirripi, Lajamanu, Atitjere and Yuelamu - Wednesday 11/11.

Engawala and Anmatjere - Thursday 12/11.

Laramba -  Friday 13/11.

Yuendumu has been kicking some goals lately.

The first is the Central Desert Regional Council (CDRC) Local Authority initiative of a new bus shelter for Yuendumu – this is the first of two planned for the community.

It replaces the existing smaller bus shelter and now provides shelter and seating for up to twenty people – including their luggage.

Another Local Authority project combined with CDRC Youth Sport and Recreation was to supply cleaning packs for all community houses and yards in Yuendumu. PAW Media are assisting with four community advertisements daily for the month of October encouraging residents to participate.

The first community member to collect his cleaning kit was Eddie Robertson, Indigenous Engagement Officer in Yuendumu. He was very excited and said he was “going to take a day off work to clean his house.”

Another happy resident was Jezebel Presley who was going to clean her house and “would not have to buy these things when she went to town.”

There has also been a ‘Yapa crew’ from The Granites mine assisting in a general clean up around Yuendumu, including some drains. The workers are not able to work at the mine due to COVID-19 (with fly-in/fly-out workers coming from interstate) so The Granites send them to nearby communities to help out.
