2010-2011 Annual Report released

The Central Desert Shire Council adopted its 2010-2011 Annual Report today, 10th November 2011.  "I am very happy to present Central Desert Shire Council’s third annual report. The Shire is still a fledgling organisation but continues to make enormous progress. I continue to be very proud of how far we have come in such a short time." said Shire President, Norbert Patrick.

The Annual Report provides the Council the opportunity to report to its community the progress it has made during the year against the Council's adopted Shire Plan.

"Getting the new Northern Territory shires running in ‘business as usual’ mode has been an extraordinary challenge for all involved. Central Desert Shire has come a long way and is very proud of the xtraordinary number of successes and achievements made in the first three years of its existence. We don’t intend to rest on our laurels and are determined to rise to even greater heights of managerial professionalism and competence." the Chief Executive Officer, Roydon Robertson commented.

Please see the Annual Report section for more information.

Congratulations to Ti Tree Aged Care Staff

It was a day of celebration at Ti Tree Aged Care facility when 10 staff from Central Desert Shire were issued with their statements of attainment in Certificate II in Community Services on Monday 24th October 2011.

The Certificates were presented by the STEPS CEO Garry Hooper, who had travelled over from Queensland with the STEPS Board of Management specifically for the presentation and put on BBQ for staff and guests to enjoy.

Six very proud staff; Mark Gorey, Henry Ross, Lanceton Campbell, Estelle Carter, Annette Alan and Mary Campbell, were present to collect their certificates.

The other successful staff who were not present were Lana Campbell, Joanne Pepperill, Rozanne Morris and Sharna Corbert

STEPS are the Registered Training Authority contracted to provide Aged and Disability Care training throughout the Central Desert Shire.  So far the Ti Tree staff have completed 7 modules towards the Certificate II in Community Services – well done.
