At the Special Council meeting held on 24th June 2011, Council adopted the 2011/2012 Shire Plan. 

The 2011/2012 Shire Plan sets the direction for Council’s operations, service delivery, decisions, policies and budgets over the next year, four years and beyond. It sets out the key issues to be pursued by Council to address the community’s needs and aspirations. The Shire Plan will drive Council’s decision making and resource allocation.

A number of CDEP participants including Sebastian Webb and Fredrick Hunter (pictured) have worked to install street signage in the community.

The installation of street signs was an initiative of the Local Board and the names are based on gems found in the area. The street signs include Sphene, Zircon, Garnet, Sunstone, Quartz and Amethyst Street. Crystal Court and Mica Road.

CDEP participants with the help of the Shire, completed the installation as an activity and in the process learned important skills such as concrete mixing, measuring and planning of activities.

Atitjere is the first community to have achieved this milestone.
