Lajamanu now has four new Field Officers for the Central Desert Regional Council (CDRC) Works crew. CDRC Senior Administration Officer in Lajamanu, Michael Erglis, held a training session explaining the plant Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) and Work, Health and Safety (WHS) policy to new Field Officers Maxi Gordon, Dermott Cook, Andrew Sua and Adam Cook, as well as long term Field Officer Hector Patterson.
Keeping staff safe is a very important part of CDRC policy, and some of the jobs the Works crew do can be dangerous if not done properly and with the correct safety gear.

The Central Desert Regional Council (CDRC) Works crew, working with the Yuendumu Roads crew, installed road furniture in Nyirripi over a two week period recently. But don’t think you’ll have a new comfy couch to sit on by the road in Nyirripi. This road furniture is signage to inform people of services and to keep people safe.
“It was a nice change from usual tasks and helps to make our community a safer place,” said CDRC acting Community Services Coordinator (CSC) Julie Coote.
