The Atitjere office is promoting good health and hygiene practices in the lead up to flu season and in preparation of a possible Corona virus outbreak. The TV screen which usually has community pictures displayed is currently running the SecureNT COVID-19 information slides. The Council Office has plenty of information on display and has worked closely with the local Clinic to help promote healthy practices.

Central Desert Regional Council (CDRC) has upgraded the lighting in the Atitjere office to comply with Work, Health and Safety and as an added bonus will cut the cost of lighting electricity usage by at least fifty percent. The old fluorescent lights were removed and new LED strip lighting has been installed.
“The quality of the light in the office is now amazing! A win – win in our books as we now have both a safer and more energy efficient workplace,” said Atitjere Community Services Coordinator (CSC) Warren Kenney.
This is in line with Council’s goal four of their regional plan; ‘Sustainable Communities’. Every little bit helps!
