The First Circles Leadership Program is an NT Government program aimed to help identify, mentor and support Aboriginal emerging leaders from remote communities across the Northern Territory.
Participants have an opportunity to directly engage with Cabinet where they can discuss issues and put forward local solutions.
“I’m excited and looking forward to the leadership journey,” Sean said. “I want to be a leader for the younger generation, set a good example for them and be a good role model.”
“Meeting the Ministers will be something new for me. I want to talk to them about what is going on in the communities. Coming back to the community with more knowledge about leadership.”
Sean was inspired to join the leadership program after hearing the First Circles talk at the CDRC Staff Forum last year.
“During the talk, my Program Manager Colette was looking at me, encouraging me to join,” he said. “I want to thank Colette and Dion for helping me put in the application,” he added.
“Congratulations, Sean, on your selection for the First Circles Leadership Program, Council is delighted to support you on this learning journey,” said Rachel Wilson, Director Corporate Services.
