Joining forces with the NPY Women's Council, MacDonnell Regional Council, and Hoops 4 Health, the event fostered a strong sense of community spirit and collaboration while providing a platform for showcasing local talent.
Arriving in Yulara on Thursday, 11 January, the Willowra team enjoyed a welcoming barbecue and team introductions before gearing up for the competition on Friday. The 3 x 3 format provided fast-paced action and exciting matches, with each team battling it out on the court.
Beyond the competitive spirit, the event offered a valuable opportunity for the young athletes to connect with their peers from other regions and build lasting friendships. To cap off the weekend, all teams were treated to a spectacular drone show courtesy of Voyages/Ayer's Rock Resort, a dazzling display that lit up the desert sky.
The Willowra team's participation in the Yulara basketball competition is a testament to the dedication and talent of young athletes in the Central Desert region. Their commitment to sport and teamwork serves as an inspiration to others, demonstrating the power of community and collaboration in fostering a healthy and active lifestyle.
