Pulardi Road Gets a Boost

Central Desert Regional Council (CDRC) is thrilled to announce the successful completion of the Pulardi Road upgrade. Our talented Indigenous Roads Crew did a fantastic job rebuilding a 4-kilometre stretch of road using a special technique called sand clay lift formation. This means the road is now much stronger and safer to travel on.

But that’s not all! This project was a fantastic opportunity for our crew to learn new skills and build confidence. We’re incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication.

Yuelamu Road Improvements

Thanks to funding from the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure (LRCI) Program, we’ve also upgraded a 6.5-kilometre section of the Yuelamu road. This project was completed by Danny Orr Earthmoving and has made a big difference to access for the Yuelamu community.

The LRCI program helps councils like ours improve local roads and create jobs. We’re grateful for this support, as it helps us build stronger, safer communities.

We’re committed to improving roads across the Central Desert region and ensuring our communities have safe and reliable access to essential services.

The completed off-let drains on both sides of the road take floodwater away providing all weather access to Yuelamu.
