A proud Warlpiri man with deep roots in Alice Springs, Mr Hampton brings a wealth of experience to the role. With over 40 years of service in government and community organisations, including his time as a Member of the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly, Karl has a proven track record of delivering positive outcomes for Indigenous communities.

As Director of Indigenous Strategy, Mr Hampton will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase Indigenous workplace participation, enhance cultural competency across CDRC, and foster First Nations leadership. He will also play a key role in promoting and supporting cultural projects and initiatives.

“I am thrilled to join the Central Desert Regional Council team and contribute to the important work of this organisation,” said Mr Hampton. “My focus will be on strengthening governance, driving economic development, and ensuring that CDRC's 'Two Ways – One Outcome' strategy is fully realised.”
