The Central Desert Regional Council (CDRC) Managers’ Forum was held at the Alice Springs Desert Park for December.

The first week of December kicked off with Laramba Youth, Sport and Recreation (YSR) having a Christmas barbecue and putting up their Christmas tree.

The 2022 Tidy Town awards ceremony took place in Darwin on 25 November and Central Desert Regional Council (CDRC) were there to receive their awards.

The theme for next year’s NAIDOC Week is For Our Elders, and the National NAIDOC Committee is once again holding a 2023 National NAIDOC Week Poster Competition.

At the start of November Central Desert Regional Council (CDRC) staff member Siobhan (Shiv) Ivins spent some time at Laramba Community having the opportunity to work ‘in the life of an engagement officer’.

In September Central Desert Regional Council (CDRC) Laramba Childcare had been reading and talking about their families; what it was like when grandparents and great grandparents were children growing up and what it is like for children growing up now.

The Laramba Youth Recreation Hall now has a shade structure over a half-court basketball court, built with funding from a previous Aboriginals Benefit Account (ABA) grant from the Australian Government.

National Safe Work Month happens every year in October, and this year’s theme is “Know Safety, Work Safely”.
