Staff from Central Desert Regional Council’s (CDRC) Community Development Program (CDP) in Laramba and Yuendumu attended a one week Certificate II in Automotive Training at the Centre for Appropriate Technology (CAT) in Alice Springs last week.
Three activity supervisors, two Activity Liaison Engagement Officers (ALEO) and an activity coordinator attended the training, which involved servicing small engines like lawn mowers, chain saws and whipper snippers (line trimmers).
This was a Northern Territory Government funded program so CDP only had to pay for the accommodation and transport for the participants.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions there was a limit on numbers that could attend.
Pictured is Cliffy Egan, Vaughn Hampton, Timothy Glenn, Raukura Riwaka and David Russell watching Pat Organ of CAT service a chainsaw.
