Mr Sabatino brings a wealth of experience to the role including over twenty years of experience in the public service sector. His expertise lies in strategic, operational and cross-cultural management, optimising processes, leading cross-disciplinary teams, and implementing innovative solutions that enhance accessibility, productivity and profitability.
His background includes significant experience as a CEO in local government and holding senior officer positions in both local government and the public sector.
“I’m delighted to announce the appointment of Ilario Sabatino to the position of Chief
Executive Officer,” said President Adrian Dixon.
“I look forward to working closely with him to focus on delivering services and infrastructure for our communities.
“Together with Councillors and the Council team, I look forward to welcoming Ilario to guide Council’s day-to-day operations and implement council’s strategic direction into the future.
“I would like to thank the outgoing acting CEO, Nishantha Perera for managing Council’s day-to-day operations while this recruitment process was undertaken,” he said.
Mr Sabatino said he was honoured to be appointed to the role.
“I would like to acknowledge the president and councillors for the confidence that they have placed in me as CEO and I look forward to working closely with our departments, communities and key partners,” he said.
